Then there are jealous partners that cant take it that their partners are hooking up with old friends, be it male or female friends. Also companies are blocking access to social networks, except business related ones. (Productivity issues) There was also the security issues that went around that you can not delete your profile from facebook once you've signed up. Last but not least, facebook might be too intimidating for most, they heard of this great networking site, registered and thought it's to complicated to comprehend... I have found though I spend more combined time on some more useful sites & applications which have more value than comparing myself to an exotic flower for example on facebook. I think there are way more value adding applications being launched which has started pulling people's attention away from the fat time wasters like facebook. The long tail of web 2.0 is kicking in and attention is being spread much wider. I'd hazard a guess and say more time is being spent, but spread more widely. I’d say those are the major reasons I for one have spent less time on Facebook particularly.
