@Mike
Thanks.
An interesting point that you raised up there about a setup wizzard but then as you know Microsoft, they will manipulate it so that it favors them more that it favors other browsers.

@Joseph
That's the problem.

My only suggestion would be to supply windows with a setup wizzard for the internet that explains each browser and then links to the download to allow for web surfing.

Even that isn't a perfect situation because Microsoft would still end up writing the overviews of each browser.

@Mike
But then if you dont know anything about computers, you wont change anything. How do you force the educated choice? I would like to hear more of you views on that.

By the way the internet rumourville says Microsoft are on the verge of droping IE from their next release of Windows. But then how will you get to the net to download a web browser in windows because in Linux its not a problem. http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/03/12/microsoft-to-drop-ie/

I am an avid fan of the Firefox browser. However I do have to state in regards to this post that how a browser is marketed is primarily up to the company who does the marketing.

Microsoft chose to bundle IE with Windows and so it should. Without IE the internet would not be as accessible as is has been. There are much better options than IE but the truth is that basic computer users use IE because it is all they know.

However I do believe that when people have to make a choice they will learn about the choices that lie before them. If internet browsers are not standard issue with operating systems then people would lean towards making an educated choice behind which browser they use.

Forcing that educated choice may be the only way to provide internet browsers a fair platform for competition.
